An integral part of Napa Valley history since 1881, Oakville Grocery remains a gathering place for friends to share the best in handcrafted, locally sourced food and wine and to experience what makes Napa and Sonoma Counties so special. As the longest continually operating grocery store in California, it was the general store that served the visionary pioneers who first planted grapes in the valley. We want to honor that rich past while looking forward to present the very best in casual handcrafted food - food that is representative of today’s thriving Napa and Sonoma County’s gourmet artisan food community.
Our historic store, from time to time, needs a bit of love and care. The harsh winter rains and hot summers have taken a toll on our iconic Coca-Cola sign, so we commissioned local artist Dusty Kramer to restore it. See the process he used to bring it back to life.
Join Amanda McCrossin, the SommVivant, at our very own Rudd Farms on Mt. Veeder. Rudd Farms is high up on Mt. Veeder and is a fully functioning farm complete with produce and livestock which supplies PRESS Restaurant and Oakville Grocery with seasonal goods. Goats, chickens, and Bertha the Pig keep us plenty entertained as we walk the grounds, hoping to catch a glimpse of the eclipse. A thick fog blankets Napa Valley on its first day of Harvest, but it doesn't stop us from flying the drone around a bit.
